The PBCAC (Pittsburgh Byzantine Catholic Archeparchial Choir) invites faithful, friends and family to experience the joy and splendor of the Nativity season on Sunday Dec. 22 as they present “Joyfully We Sing!” a choral showcase of beloved music of the Holy Birth of our Lord.
The program will begin at 2 p.m. at St Elias Byzantine Catholic Church, 4200 Homestead-Duquesne Road in Munhall, Pa.
The event title will echo throughout the presentation, which features many familiar hymns and carols from the Byzantine Ruthenian tradition as well as several American/English favorites. “Joyfully We Sing” is a relatively new carol, created in 2023 in an “American Byzantine” style especially for the PBCAC by the group’s longtime director, Darlene Fejka.
Immediately following the program, the PBCAC, along with St. Elias Church and pastor Father Vitalii Stashkevych, welcome all in attendance to gather in the parish social hall for the Choir’s signature “Cookie Reception” featuring holiday goodies and refreshments.
PLEASE NOTE – there is NO Steelers game on Sunday Dec. 22, so “come on down” and spend an hour or two with the Archeparchial Choir and be immersed in the glorious songs of the Holy Season. All are warmly welcome!
The PBCAC celebrated 26 years of “heavenly harmony” in July 2024. Rehearsals are held on select Tuesdays throughout the year at St. Elias Church under the direction of Darlene Fejka.
