The Vatican has announced that the Holy Father has appointed Father George D. Gallaro Bishop of the Byzantine Eparchy of Piana degli Albanesi in Palermo, Italy.
Father George is a priest of the the Melkite Eparchy of Newton, Massachusetts who has served the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh for the past ten years, eight of which were spent on faculty at the Byzantine Catholic Seminary of SS. Cyril & Methodius.
Metropolitan Archbishop William, the clergy, religious and faithful of the Archeparchy of Pittsburgh congratulate Bishop-elect George, and wish him peace, health and happiness for many blessed years!
