Bishop John Pazak, CSSR enthronement date set newly appointed head of Phoenix Eparchy to begin his tenure July 20.

Bishop John S. Pazak, CSSR, who on May 7 was named by Pope Francis as the new bishop of the Byzantine Catholic Eparchy of the Holy Protection of Mary in Phoenix, Ariz., will assume his duties as head of the eparchy when he is enthroned at Saint Stephen Byzantine Catholic Cathedral on July 20. A member of the Congregation of the Most Holy Redeemer (the Redemptorists), Bishop John was ordained to the presbyterate in 1972, and began his episcopal career in December 2000 when he became Bishop of the Eparchy of Toronto, Ontario Canada for Byzantine (Greek Catholic) Slovaks. Bishop John succeeds retiring Bishop Gerald N. Dino, who had led the Eparchy of Phoenix since his 2008 enthronement.
