The Greek Catholic Union of the U.S.A. (GCU) Helping Hands Day will take place on Sat., June 1 at Mount St. Macrina. This annual event prepares the grounds for 79th Annual Pilgrimage, Aug. 31 – Sept. 1, 2013.
On Helping Hands Day, GCU members will be joined by many volunteers of the Sisters of St. Basil who will weed and plant the floral gardens, urns, and other areas surrounding the shrines throughout the grounds. Other work centers will be several pavilions needing to be cleared of a winter’s worth of leaves and debris.
The GCU is a fraternal benefit society which has served Byzantine Catholics since 1982. The GCU is pleased to partner with the Sisters of St. Basil on this project.
For those participating, here are a few tips:
If you would like to register and if you have any questions, please call Sister Carol at 724-438-7149 or Chris Petty, GCU, at 1-800-722-4428, extension 209.
