The Pittsburgh Byzantine Catholic Archeparchial Choir invite all to share the spirit and joy of the holy Nativity of our Lord as they present “A BYZANTINE CHRISTMAS” on Sunday, Dec. 11 at Holy Spirit Byzantine Catholic Church in Pittsburgh’s Oakland neighborhood. The program begins at 2 p.m.
Sponsored by the Archeparchy’s Campus Ministry program, the PBCAC’s presentation at Holy Spirit Church – located at 4815 Fifth Avenue in the heart of Oakland’s vibrant university scene – will include beloved Byzantine hymns and carols celebrating the Nativity and the many wonders of the holy season. Byzantine Ruthenian selections Church Slavonic and English will be presented, as well as a few well-known Western songs with a Byzantine twist. College students and their families especially are encouraged to come and enjoy the choir’s Christmas songfest.
Immediately following this Campus Ministry event, a hospitality reception with refreshments and treats will follow the program in the lower level of the church. Admission is free, and there is also plenty of parking available in the church vicinity.
